The Button team is thrilled to announce that we have been named (again) on Inc's Top 50 Best Workplaces in 2018! The recognition is based on employee engagement, which Inc. defines as "the strength of the mental and emotional connection workers feel toward their places of occupation". Button is one of the highest-scoring companies out of the nearly 2,000 businesses that applied.

Since Button's inception, people have been a number one priority and it's reflected in our DNA— we're proud of what we've built here. Whether it's supporting our growing families with 18 weeks paid parental leave, allowing our teammates to take a mental break with our unlimited vacation policy (and $1,000 travel stipend), or company retreats to the Catskills to breakaway and collaborate with other teams— we strive to foster a culture that supports every employee, both in and out of the office.

"By including an employee survey into this year's Best Workplaces selection process, we've really raised the bar. Companies that don't score at the very top of their peer group don't make the cut. So, our hats are off to the winners. They all excelled at engaging their workers, making them feel appreciated, and aligning them behind a mission. And remember, that's not just our opinion: The employees told us that themselves,"
— James Ledbetter, Inc. Editor-in-Chief

What does it take to create a company and culture that employees are proud to be a part of? As Inc. puts it: it's more than good pay and good perks— it's also about having a clear purpose, a sense of humor, and leadership that makes the two work together.

As part of the publication's second annual ranking and out of thousands of applicants, the list is the result of a wide-ranging and comprehensive measurement of private U.S. companies who have created exceptional workplaces through vibrant cultures, deep employee engagement, and stellar benefits.

When survey provider Quantum Workplace perused through the various entries, a few fun, distinct themes emerged:

  • Strong company cultures breed stunning individual and team performance.
  • Employees value an open and honest communication structure, spanning every level from junior employees to management.
  • When employees feel valued by their organization, they are far more likely to be engaged. This single factor proved to be one of the largest drivers of employee engagement.

The Button team is honored to be recognized as an Inc. Best Workplace and we're eager to continue growing and making Button a best place to work. There's yet to be a better time to join Button— and we're hiring, so check out our open positions!
